We see the child before the circumstance.

In March 2025, during my service year in Bayelsa State, God placed it on my heart to volunteer at an orphanage. Weekly visits to Destiny Child Orphanage soon became something deeper. I did not want to become another temporary presence in the children's lives.

Through prayer, the idea for the Orphanage Games was born. It was created to give children visibility, celebrate their ability, and attract support that could continue after the event.

That first idea grew into a wider vision: structured programmes that support education, digital access, volunteering, talent discovery, and stronger partnerships around registered orphanages.

NextGem was not built alone. Friends, family, volunteers, orphanage leaders, public institutions, and supporters helped turn a personal commitment into an organisation.

Today, we continue to build the futures of Nigeria's orphans with integrity, transparency, and faith in God, who makes the work possible.
